Need new AS package in repos for OMV 2.x and OMV 3.x.
Here is the package page:
PS- Can you remind me where the openvpn-as package is in the repos for OMV 3.x???

Yes, AS is way to go unless you are using an ARM device. I hope that package is in the plex repo. You can check if it is available before installing the plugin by:
apt-cache policy openvpn-as
-
@gderf You should add me as a friend on your library. I'd never have to add media to mine again...
-
Did you refresh your browser??? javascript can be leftover in the browser cache so you need to refresh your browser.
-
Yeah, try it in command line.
-
Did you use:
apt-get purge openmediavault-openvpn
-
You should not install both of these at the same time. Did you get an error message when it did not uninstall??
give results of this:
dpkg -l openm* -
You need to enable the repo that has openvpn-as. Not sure what one it is in right now. I've been away from forums for a while. Aaron can answer this:
It might be in the plex repo.

With your media to move/copy/paste/delete/rename/create folder/delete folder it is easiest to do via samba share and file explorer in Windows 10. For administrative type stuff I use the file manager in webmin. There is html based one and a java based, don't use the java based anymore.

I will try to take a look when I get a chance. You should be able to not make a selection so the database stays in the default location.
-
Is this OMV 2.x or 3.x??? PC or ARM?
-
Some people just need to be a little more patient.

I don't remember ever being forced to move the database on the plugin installation. I believe if you do not select anything the default location is used.

You can create an entry in the firewall to only allow local connections to the port that minidlna is using.
Example:
INPUT ACCEPT Source 192.168.1.0/24 port 8200 Protocol tcpYou may have to adjust the Source for your LAN.

If I was using external devices I'd recommend getting a powered usb hub. NTFS should only be used with OMV on a temporary basis to move data. Long term you should be using ext4 or xfs.
