  • Anacron Daily won't Execute

    hi,


    inspired from this thread: rsnapshot + autoshutdown/WOL - flexible daily backups
    it tried so setup an anacron job for a daily/weekly/monthly snapshot yesterday.
    i dont have my maschine running 24/7. So is started my NAS this morning and the anacron job didnt executed.


    after this i trieed to find out why... but now i have to ask you why. from my unterstandings there must by a symlink or a copy in the /etc/cron.daily from the userdefined entry in the /var/lib/openmediavault/cron.d. but there isnt.


    After some testing i delete the timestamp files in /var/spool/anacron and reboot the server.


    After 5 minutes Anacron start the Daily Job.


    For testing i have just two small commands to create a file in Root direktory!

    after 10 minutes the weekly Job will execute but still nothing happends.


    the only think that works is the weekly job from /etc/cron.weekly/openmediafault-update-smart-drivedb, becaue i got an email of this.


    maybe someone has an idea and can help me.

  • PyLoad Kein speichern der Plugin Settings

    Hallo zusammen,


    mein Umstieg von FreeNAS zu OMV ist so langsam abgeschlossen. Bin echt begeistert von der Einfachheit etc.
    Nun habe ich noch ein kleines Problem mit PyLoad.


    Ich möchte gerne das automatische löschen der RAR-Files in PyLoad aktivieren. Dies funktioniert aber nicht.
    Nach dem Speichern der Settings wird der wert "TRUE" auch in die plugin.conf geschrieben. Wenn ich pyLoad aber neu starte werden jedesmal die Standart-Settings wieder geladen.
    Dieses Problem tritt aber erst auf nachdem alle Updates durchgelaufen sind.
    ich Habe dann sicherheitshalber das ganze auch mal bei einem anderen Plugin versucht. Und hier ist es das gleich.


    hat da jemand rat, oder schon gleiche Erfahrungen sammeln können?


    Des weiteren würde ich gerne den Benutzer und nach erfolgreichem download ändern. dies ist aber mit dem User Pyload nicht erlaubt und als Root würde ich pyload nicht unbedingt gerne laufen lassen.

  • Migrate FreeNAS 9.2.x ZFS to OMV

    i come from freennas, and i'm still on it :(


    so but now over christmas i have enough time maybe to switch to OMV. For me it doesnt matter if there is GUI Support for ZFS or not.
    If its possible to Manage the ZFS Pool via Shell i'm fine.
    So i'm fimilar with the Shell Linux etc.


    so is it possible at the moment to run OMV with ZFS???
    I think Debian is ready for this.
    Keep in mind my System is not testing.


    Can u help me to get it up and Running?

    sounds very good. so i will give OMV a try.


    ZFS Plugin .. Nice. so what do you think about the performance with OMV and ZFS plugin? should i wait till there is a stable release, or should i use mdam Raid?

    Hallo zusammen,


    habe seit mehreren Jahren nun FreeNAS im einsatz. Läuft auch sehr stabil.
    nur leider Fehlt mir die Energiesparfunktion in FreeBSD. Ich würde gerne mein NAS in Suspens to RAM runterfahren.
    Wie sind die Energiesparfunktionen von OMV?! geht das alles? basiert ja auf Debian, womit ich immer gute erfahrungen mit gemacht habe.


    Desweiteren Nutze ich 3 Jails für MySQL, pyLoad und PXE. Habe ich die möglichkeit sowas auch wieder in OMV zu nutzen.
    Was mich auch sehr reizt ist forked-ddapd.


    Mein größtes problem ist allerdings das ich in FreeNAS ein 12 TB großen ZFS-Pool habe.
    besteht die möglichkeit diesen zu OMV zu migrieren?
