I think I've done that accidentally anyway. I now have 3 ip's under localhost. Is that right?

Yes, that has done it. Thank you very much for the help. Added 127.0.0.1 raspberrypi to hosts and it all went through fine.

If I enable passive ftp first and save then enable FTP I get a slightly different error.

I just looked at the error again and it tells you why the error is happening. The min port has to be less than the max port in the config.
The min port is less than the max I think? it's at its default of 49152 - 65534. Double checked the config and it's the same. I still get the error.

I also get this error and I'm using a Rpi. I have installed the proftpd update, but still no luck.
