Hi WastlJ,
I tried omv-firstaid, but every time it would just hang.

Hi All,
Sorry to say that I am unable to access the web interface again.
Installed app web interfaces appear ok, printing, plex, transmission, calibre.
I can ssh in and run top, but there is nothing running and using resources like last time.
just a communication error when I try to access the web interface.
Michael
Hi All,
So Far So Good, server has been stable for a day and a half with out any dramas.
Not sure what caused the problem.
Not even sure what fixed it.
But thank you all for your help.

Michael
Hi Guys,
I even tried restarting the system a couple of times last night, in the end it became unresponsive so I left it and had a nights sleep.
This morning it was still stuck displaying something along the lines of services onhold for 120sec.
So I restarted again, this time after quota checks the login prompt appeared, but I had no ssh, so I plugged in a KB and ran omv-firstaid and setup the network.
At this point the system appears normal and all services are running.
I'll let you know if the system is still stable tonight when I get home from work.
Michael
Hi WastlJ,
I have had the backports installed, but now it is not showing, after having a bit more of a look around, it looks like my shares are not listed in the web interface, even though they are working.
Edit: They did come up but it took a while.
Michael
Hi Tekkb,
The resync appears to have finished, but omv still seems to ramp up over a 9 hour period and then crash.

mmm that didnt copy and paste as easy as I thought it would.
Anyway it looks like 12.5% raid5 and 3.8% resync are the top process's in cpu usage.
I'm off to bed myself now, I'll check it again in the morning.
Cheers

I looked at my emails from my omv, just before the web gui stopped working the resources maxed out, and apache not found.
I tried restarting apache and got the following;

Thanks for the quick reply,

Is there anything in particular I should be looking for?

Hi Guys,
I'm having problems with my omv sarduaka.
I've made no changes recently other then apply updates.
I can access via ssh, installed plugins appear to work, Plex, calibre, tranmission, cups.
I'm also able to access all shares.
But i'm not able to access the web gui.
I've tried running omv-firstaid and reset settings, I attempted to set the port for the web interface, I pressed enter but it comes up with the following;
Sometimes it will come up with a failed error, generally it just hangs at Please Wait.....
Updating web administration settings. Please wait ...
Failed to execute RPC (service=WebGui, method=setSettings).

I've tried apt-get re-install omv but still unable to access.

Hi all,
I'm trying to setup the Git Plugin for my wife who is a programmer, her current studies require a repository.
I, in my infinite wisdom and wide experience Said Yes I can set that up for you.
Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful at this point.
I am running Sardaukar 0.5.57 with the following plugins installed/
Have tried cloning the repository from both windows and linux.
Even created a new account, here is the error I get from the linux:
root@omv-srv:~# git clone http://gituser@192.168.1.2/git/ProgrammingFundamentalsCloning into ProgrammingFundamentals...Password: error: couldn't connect to host while accessing http://gituser@192.168.1.2/git/ProgrammingFundamentals/info/refs
fatal: HTTP request failedroot@omv-srv:~#
I'm sure its something simple I'm probably missing.
I used the Info Tab on the Git plugin for reference, I couldnt find any other howto in the omv forums using the search.
Hoping for Marital Bless and any help you can provide.
Michael

Michael
Hi All,
I was having stability issues where mem and cpu resources would max out and I woud have to do a full shut down ( from the power switch ) and restart.
The system would work for a few days then the problem would return.
So i decided to re-install OMV was running .4 to .5
After a few days a similar problem occured, but a shutdown / restart didnt seem to fix it.
After plugging in a monitor and restarting it came up saying that there had been an issue with the files on my RAID error 4.
I did a Control D to continue and checked the raid status and it was resyncing.
After a couple of hours the RAID came up as clean.
After a couple of days the problem returned.

I've included above the output of blkid and cat /proc/mdstat.
The system had been running for over a year on 0.4 without any problems.
I've just tried adding the backports kernel, as I've read this has fixed some wierd issues.
But the system just froze.
Ive just restarted again, need a scratching my head Smilie
Michael
Not sure how many watts it draws, but I needed something to display for initial setup.
Just as well I left it in though It had a RAID re-sync the next day, havnt figured out why yet.
oops Forgot the CPU core i5 750
