No the same result like using apt-get install.
No it isn't that hard, I only thought thats the RASPI can do more than PiHole
and I hate when things not running.
Nevertheless "Thank You"
I used the command like written in the PDF
wget -O - https://github.com/OpenMediaVa…Script/raw/master/install | sudo bash
but that was the first time with errors.
May be that the used port of lighttpd was one reason, after correcting it, it wasn't running too.
As I tried afterwards the apt-get install, I will have now remove of OMV and then try onece again
the wget.
Thank you for your answers,
I changed the port for lighttpd and it is working.
Additionally I installed lvm2 and nginx befor installing OMV.
Lvm2 and nginx ar fine now, but the installation of OMV is ending with
>>>
Failed to preset unit: Unit file /etc/systemd/system/openmediavault-beep-down.service is masked.
/usr/bin/deb-systemd-helper: error: systemctl preset failed on openmediavault-beep-down.service: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing package openmediavault (--configure):
installed openmediavault package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
openmediavault
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
<<<
The File /etc/systemd/system/openmediavault-beep-down.service is a link to /dev/null
Is it possible, that this combination doesn't work?
While installing OMV5 I got errors with LMV2, NGINX and OMV itself, as OMV5 needs both.
As my RasPI is my PiHole-central there allready is another webserver installed, lighttpd.
But shuting down lighttpd and installing nginx (yes it worked) didn't help with OMV.
Additionally I coudn't use the PiHole Admin Web-Site. Nginx doesn't want to deal with.
Am I right with thinking, that both won't work together?
Oh wow,
thank you for the quick respons.
That is the reason I coudn't find the UUID in any other files/configs.
Thanks one again.
Hello people,
I stuck with somthing.
In the config.xml you can find something like this:
<sharedfolder>
<uuid>9e83561e-f8f9-4aec-89ef-1ae69dce55c1</uuid>
<name>fubar</name>
<comment></comment>
<mntentref>39d6f1bd-83c4-4d83-90de-a262530d58fa</mntentref>
Where does the combination of numbers and characters come from?
I try to come more into OMV but this I don't understand, I don't think that it is any serial number.
Is it random?
Noch was,
Sc0rp fragte, "welche Erfahrung".
OK, thank's for the hint.
Hello all,
I had to purge and reinstall my installation of OMV 3.0.18
While installing I got errors concerning the config.xml
After looking at the file I saw, that the ending tag of <dns> was just <dns>
Changing it to </dns> let the installation run properly in a second try.
If you just update your installation you won't have the problem.

Hello Wolf2000,
Your help (the reference to Bram77) didn't work for me (the last statement)
service openmediavault restart
Failed to restart openmediavault.service: Unit openmediavault.service failed to load: No such file or directory.
aptitude install openmediavault
leads to reinstall, but then the new version 3.0.15.
So I can use the GUI, without FTP and with the 5 minute timeout-limit.
I had done the update from 3.0.13 to 3.0.15 which cause to problems.
After some correction 3.0.15 is running, but ....
1) the time limit for OMV is about 5 minutes, whatever is written in the field
2) ftp is not running, every time i click on ftp I get: "Failed to index key 'enable' of 'enable.0' because it has no children."
Details:

FTP-Server installed are:
service --status-all |grep ftp
[ - ] proftpd
[ - ] tftpd-hpa
but not running after reboot
But starting proftpd, doesn't change anything.
Any clues ?
The next time I will wait, otherwise I now have to open again the case, release all HD's without the boot-HD .....
Thank's for the hint,
but as Debian 8 allready is installed I think I will wait until there is a stable OMV 3
and use the system without OMV.
OK, I didn't know that Debian8 doesn't work with OMV 2.x.
I just installed 3.0, knowing that it is unstable?
The problem still is there.
Is something else missing ?
Hello again,
after waiting long (no acsusation to Volker) I decided not to wait for version 3.0.
I now have a running Debian 8 and the RAID is runnig too.
The Problem ist the installation ov OpenMediaVault 2.
I updated the files:
/etc/apt/sources.list
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault.list
then I started:
apt-get update
wget -O - http://packages.openmediavault.org/public/archive.key | apt-key add -
apt-get install openmediavault
and got this:
( in English)
openmediavault : depends on: php5-pam shouldn't be installed
depends on: proftpd-mod-vroot shouldn't be installed
depends on: php5-proctitle shouldn't be installed
E: problems can not be corrected(solved), you have packages which are refrained and fault
I hadn't done something with the packages mentioned by the system.
So what can I do?
Is there anyone who has an answer?
