    Guess I'll disable automatic shutdown since new ideas...
    Any other clues?

    A device path (anything starting with /dev) should never be a path you use to write files. You want the device's mountpoint which is in the filesystems or sharedfolders tab.

    After reading logs and with the help of AI all I need to do was run "sudo apt install proftpd-mod-crypto"

    This is no bug, this is how mdadm works. You can try to add the new disk as hotspare before removing the disk that is to be replaced. To keep it short, the mdadm support in OMV does not do any magic for you.
