    Back to your original issue - did you type  omv-firstaid or omv firstaid?

    You need to type it with the dash between 'omv' and 'firstaid' and no spaces.

    As for cloning your drive in Windows, you should be able to assign a drive letter to it using Disk…

    Ah, I guess that's why: when I first encountered the issue, I manually "set boot" on the new kernel, which probably changed GRUB_DEFAULT to saved. Clicking "Unset default kernel" changed it back to 0. I guess it'll work for future upgrades.
