    The always free amd instance/image/shape only has 1gb ram so maybe this will be a problem...

    If it is VM, yes. If it is a container (lxc, docker, etc), no.

    Of course you have a a backup.
    I came from the Synology world and that has a similar disk structure. Based on that, I would expect that you would disconnect the disk, install OMV and then reconnect the disk.

    The output looks like what I expected and doesn't have the zfs plugin removing in it. So, not sure what happened.

    I don't see anything wrong. Your term log is from omv7. All I can guess is that you got a new kernel and it failed to compile a new zfs module because you still have the debian12/omv7 zfs packages. Have you run the fix7to8upgrade script?
