    Are you having plexmediaserver installed natively? This could currently cause this issue because of an error in the signing process of the sw-package. apt returns error 1.

    main problem is that the folders / files I am linking to are spread in a lot of places (disks, subfolders, etc).
    my small kids will access those folders and I do not want to move them somewhere else because the data is replicated (for backup purposes)…

    Any ideas about what specifically I should look for/change?

    I've already considered whether the motherboard itself might be defective in some way, but that doesn't seem likely to me so far, because the mSATA SSD on the board isn't causing any problems.…
