    Don't know about the filebrowser plugin, but the linuxserver doublecommander supports PUID/PGID, whivh should make it behave like a normal user and keep the correct permissions.

    ryecoaaron don't ask me what happened but, after the two commands you suggested and the error I reported above, I executed the following commands in sequence:

    That typically means a file changed between the time the backup started and ended. Not much borg can do about that. Rsync and other backup programs would have the same issue.
