Thank you for providing that additional command option. When I include --process flag I get email as follows:

From what I am seeing, saltstack is enabling and starting the unit but it exits immediately. When saltstack checks to see if the unit is running right after starting, it throws an error. I don't think this is the fault of saltstack. I think it is… -

Uninstalling the MD plugin is a perfectly acceptable solution at this stage, although it would be more satisfying to know what caused this.
So I uinstalled the MD plugin which rendered an error message. Perhaps it is significant, maybe not.

It seems like mdmonitor doesn't stay running when you have no arrays. But it exits with a 0 return code when starting, restarting, or enabling on my dev system. All I can think is uninstall the plugin until you need it unless Volker has an idea how to… -

I'm looking for the best and easiest way to set the the I/O scheduler from 'mq-deadline' to 'none', permanently for my SSDs.
I'm not really familiar with the '.rules' files in '/etc/udev/rules.d'...
