PlexConnect with Docker/VM

  • Hi

I am now to OMV (previously FreeNAS) and am really enjoying it. I was hoping that I could get some assistance. I want to run Plexconnect from my OMV and thought the two options would be Docker or Virtual box.

What is better? I had thought Docker would be as the overhead would be lower.

I have installed the Docker plugin but have never used docker before and as such am having some trouble.

Must back ports kernel be installed for Docker to work? (Read in the Forum somewhere)
I pulled the SABNZBD image and ran a container, but how do I give the container an IP address on my network? I would like to for eg be able to access SABNZBD at 192.168.1.200:9090

  • You can just install plexconnect. Why do you need docker or vm?

Yes, you need the backports kernel for docker.
Docker is lower overhead than a virtualbox vm.
I don't use docker so I can't help on the other questions.
