Completely newbie - need help in configuration

  • Hi Guys,

    I am really impressed by OPV capabilities (and NAS in generally). After long research i've decided to use OMV as my first NAS diy system.
    My old HP DC5750 is a base (4gb DDR 2 RAM, Athlon 6000+ (AM2), and Samsung HD753LJ 750gb Storage).

    Now SMB is working, but i have serious problem with transfers (Ca ~2Mb/s of uploading via WIFI from my MSI GP70 pro to NAS).

    What can be a bottleneck in this case?

  • I checked via ethernet, 10-11Mb/s. It can be better, right?
    NAS(i mean HP) is connected via ethernet to TP Link TD-W8910G v2 00002200 - maybe my router is a problem in this case?

    Your system probably has a realtech NIC in it. I recommend installing the backports kernel. There is a button to do that in omv-extras.

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.6 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

    omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

    Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

    Please put your OMV system details in your signature.

    If you don't have the omv-extras plugin installed, follow this guide. Then go to the kernel tab of omv-extras and click the install backports button. Then reboot. Done.

    Is there a reason you used the OMV 3.x instructions when you are using OMV 2.x? Follow the OMV 2.x instructions.
