incorrect time in email notifications

  • hi,
    I have activated email notifications.
every hour I get an email about cron.
but it says the system time is 2 hours behind.
looking in the system, the time is given correctly.
this looks like a time-zone problem.
    but where ??
    thanks
    Fred

I assume you have changed the timezone in the Date & Time tab? If that is not the wrong timezone, it must be the timezone for the OS.

Pick the timezone you want from the output of the following command:
    timedatectl list-timezones

    Then set it with:
    timedatectl set-timezone America/Chicago

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.6 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

  • I changed the timezone in Date & Time to Europe/Amsterdam
and the time is shown correctly.
you want me to use the command timedatectl
as RemoteDesktop is refusing me, right now, I am trying this with SSH
but it says the command is not found

the emails about this say the following:

    Zitat

    /etc/cron.hourly/fake-hwclock:
    Current system time: 2016-10-18 12:17:01
fake-hwclock saved clock information is in the future: 2016-12-06 15:11:00
To force the saved system clock backwards anyway, use "force"
    /etc/cron.hourly/openmediavault-flushmailq:
    postsuper: Deleted: 1 message

Login as root via ssh and

    fake-hwclock save force

Why would you add yourself to root? sudo gives you root privileges. And why not just login as root? The password is openmediavault unless you changed it.
