12 hours difference between time in System/Date & Time and linux date command

    In System - Date & Time at the Info Current Time field it shows "Sat 05 Aug 2017 12:57:00 AM CEST" while the date command on a PuTTY terminal at the same machine reports "Sat Aug 5 00:57:00 CEST 2017". Am I not understanding some fine details (never old enough to learn...) or could this be a bug. Anybody with the same (for me) strange behavior?

    I am not entierly sure about this but I think it the same thing it is showing. The first one is probably just showing you a 12 hours clock and the other is showing a 24 hours clock, but I am not sure.
