Another attempt updating to omv 1.0

  • My next problem: after I sucessfully made a backup of my omv-installation as described here

Backup omv 0.5.53 fails using tar

I now tried to upgrade my installation to omv 1.0 (kralizec). This fails as you can see here

    Code
    root@openmediavault:/# omv-release-upgrade
Upgrading system to 0.6 (Kralizec) ...
    removed `/var/cache/openmediavault/archives/openmediavault-omvextrasorg_0.6.22.1_all.deb'
sed: can't read /etc/apt/apt.conf: No such file or directory
    run-parts: /tmp/tmp.ZdnGZ9fGuS/pre.d/30-apt-conf exited with return code 2

1.) why does the script choose 0.6 (kralizec) even when I activated the OMV-Extras.org test repository in the OMV-GUI?

2.) what about the not found /etc/apt/apt.conf?

Can please anyone help? If not I will wait until 1.0 is finally released.

    Thank you

Maybe it is a typo. 0.6 was the development-version for 1.0, you'll get the latest version if the upgrade is finished (1.0.14 actually)

2.) what about the not found /etc/apt/apt.conf?

dunno at the moment, Volker has to look at it

Thank you for trieing. Sadly I must tell you that I am in hospital now. I hope very much that this lasts only for a few days.

I will post when I am back home. In hospital I can not modify anything.

    Your help is appreciated anyway.

    Thank you

  • Thank you for your good wishes.

Back from hospital the day before yesterday I decided to wait for the official release of OMV 1.0 which is announced for tomorrow.

I will open a new thread if necessary.

    Thank you once more.
