New OMV installation

  • Hi all

Currently I am running OMV ver 0.5.6 with Raid 5, and would like to upgrade (or even re-install) with a new installation of OMV

If I do this, will I loose any of my data, if I remount the drives after the installation?

    Please assist

  • If you upgrade your data and all shares will be there once the upgrade is finished.

If you reinstall just detach your data disks to prevent any problems that could lead to data loss. You would have to setup your shares again then.

    Greetings

  • No you can't do that. There are various reasons why this is not done via WebGUI. So run the upgrade from CLI, don't forget to update to the latest version before upgrading.

  • Any suggestions on the following ?

I cannot remove the following message in the web gui:
The configuration has been changed. You must apply the changes in order for them to take effect.

Also When I try to update first I get a long error message starting with :

    Error

  • You have setup a static IP Address but forgot to set your DNS Server.

  • Do you have CLI access? Then exute the following commands and post the output:

    Code
    cat /etc/network/interfaces
    cat /etc/resolve.conf
