Own cloud port 80

  • Hello,

I have problem with configuration owncloud.

I have server with Debian and public IP full root access. I have installed Virtualbox and Openmediavault on it. Port 80, 22 and 8443 forwarded to openmediavault. Added trusted domain from no-ip. All works ok.

In work I have very restricted internet. Only 80 and https are allowed.

Webadmin from my openmediavault on port 80 work ok from job. I decided to change webadmin port from 80 to 8081 and owncloud from default 8443 to 80.

If I want visit owncloud from home I have to put:
    https://my.domainnoip.net:80 its work great !

From my work I cannot visit site. The page not exist.

It is possible to use for example https://my.domainnoip.net without :80 at the end becsause I think this is the problem. ?

  • I do not recommend these changes. You are better to leave OMV web gui at port 80 and ownCloud at 8443. Then use one of the OpenVPN plugins to connect to your lan. Once connected to the VPN you can coonect to either the OMV web gui or ownCloud site like normal. You are opening yourself up to security issues with the choices you made.

  • Did you ever work out how to change this? I need to manually install owncloud (I have omv running on top of owncloud for specific driver reasons) and port 80 clashes. Alternatively how do I manually change the default owncloud port??
