I have a fresh setup of OMV on new hardware with new SSD (OMV) and HDD storage and I am having hanging problems. All server hardware was previously tested and working fine with an install of Ubuntu server serving NFS shares for weeks.
Asrock AM1H-ITX
AMD5350
4GB RAM
Today I setup OMV as my first NAS s/w package. I setup NFS shares fine and mounted it successfully in Ubuntu 14.10 in Nautilus. All seemed ok until I tried copying a 3GB file - Nautilus freezes and the OMV server hangs, cannot be pinged. Smaller files seem ok. The only way to recover is hard reboot which I hate doing.
On the OMV server it is negotiating a 1000Mb/s connection, as is the Ubuntu client.
I tried swapping the cat5e cable.
I think the server driver details look ok;
root@omv:~# ethtool -i eth0
driver: r8169
version: 2.3LK-NAPI
firmware-version: N/A
bus-info: 0000:02:00.0
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: no
supports-eeprom-access: no
supports-register-dump: yes
supports-priv-flags: no
NFS share is exported as:
root@omv:~# cat /etc/exports
/export/omv1tb 192.168.1.0/24(rw,subtree_check,secure)
/export 192.168.1.0/24(ro,fsid=0,root_squash,no_subtree_check,hide)
and mounted on client as:
cat /etc/fstab;
192.168.1.9:/omv1tb /mnt/htpc nfs rw,soft,intr,noatime 0 2
I am at loss what to do.
Any thoughts appreciated.
