Just to warn you, a couple of the plugins used to use usermod with the move option. We found that moving files is dangerous if it is interrupted or the target drive is full. That is why it was switched to copy and then delete.
enabling plexmediaserver makes OMV GUI unresponsive

People should backup their database. This method worked best in my testing. We always know data can be lost with move ccomands. I've seen move command in other people's coding, not yours. I think the odds of a problem on the move command are very low.
The plugin has to be reworked for systemd, yes? We look for better way but this should help it be more reliable in the short run.
Thanks..

Just for reference... My initial commit using it (almost two years ago) and here is when I changed it.The plugin has to be reworked for systemd, yes?
The only thing that should need to be changed is how the service is stopped and then started in mkconf. The rest of the changes will have to happen in the plex package itself. -
I guess we should never move home location and symmlink. Then you don't have to worry about the usermod command getting fucked up. You won't need it.
Could this not all be done in the if then statement( where the usermod command is)??? Change to copy/delete and create (or replace) the symmlink...

Did the upgrade and it worked.
@ryecoaaron I agree it is not perfect.
Flaws:
usermod -m (defacto move command)
no check if enough spaceInteresting re usermod: link
Caveats
You must make certain that the named user is not executing any processes when this command is being executed if the user's numerical user ID, the user's name, or the user's home directory is being changed. usermod checks this on Linux, but only check if the user is logged in according to utmp on other architectures. -
@ryecoaaron All issues resolved....

Updated on github...
It seems the one plex process not being killed was the biggest problem. But I'm glad this is working.

Increment version and release?
-
Yessir and thanks....
I see in a lot of miller's code he kills processes by user. We should do this all the time before usermod command.

I agree. Too bad init script doesn't do it though. 1.0.12 in repo.
