Sharing volume root

  • Hi!

Maybe i am lame, but i cant share a volume on CIFS.
    I have the volume /dev/md127.
In Shared folders, i gave the name Volume_2 for it, the selected the volume /dev/md127, entered path "/", clicked ok, set the pemission for users, then shared in CIFS/SMB, but the share is empty.
I tried to embter the path /dev/md127/ too, but it did not worked.

    What am i doing wrong?

You should take a look at your paths. Type this command in cli:

    mount

    Here it is.
The FTP works with this method, but Samba dont...

    root@milkcow:~# mount
    /dev/sdc1 on / type ext4 (rw,errors=remount-ro)
tmpfs on /lib/init/rw type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,mode=0755)
proc on /proc type proc (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev)
udev on /dev type tmpfs (rw,mode=0755)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid, nodev)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,noexec,nosuid,gid=5,mode=620)

It is mounted. Go to /media/a33ac504-98c6-410b-bb73-ee349f705d2e and check your permissions.

  • Hmm,

another one with bind interfaces ... somehow funny.

Also you cannot export /dev/md127 ... you need to export /media/whatever etc.pp. ...

Everything is possible, sometimes it requires Google to find out how.
