• Huh... you come here and ask your question as if you were buying a baguette.
No info on money limit, usage, how many users... etc.

I think that LACP agregation with 8x10Gbe should do the trick.

  • Sorry for taking my frustration out on this forum, I've been battling with a decent NAS for some time now as my openfiler NAS crashed about a month ago and I really need to get something up.

OMV has been amazing so far and I am very happy with it the only thing that I'm unsure of is the bonding options.

In the web interface I have the following options:

    balance-rr
    active-backup
    balance-xor
    broadcast
    802.3ad
    balance-tlb
    balance-alb

I was just wondering what would be the best for read/write speeds.

Again, I'm sorry for my short temper.

  • It really depends what your goal is. If you want redundancy and even usage of your NICs, balance-rr is a good idea. Active backup is just redundancy, no performance gain there. Balance-xor will probably give you the best performance. But keep in mind that you will never actually increase your speeds with this unless you are also bonding your clients.

So, the more bonded interfaces on the server, the more single-link clients you can handle.
