Hello,
I saw a tool that enables Google cloud printing on cups.
https://github.com/armooo/cloudprint
I tried it with a laserjet 1100 and it works like a charm.
Is it possible to include it in the cups plugin and add 2 fields for google account name+password and one check box to enable/disable google printing in the OpenMediaVault/cups interface?
I think it could be a great add
Thanks in advance

Please request new features here:
https://github.com/OMV-Plugins/openmediavault-cupsCan you describe what you did, to get this working?
I do not even have a printer to test the plugin. -
In the package, there is a python script called cloudprint.py
You only need to launch it by typing:
The first time, it will prompt you for your google id and password
Then it will automatically add all your cups printers and that's all!
I also saw that it can be launch as a daemon by typing (needs python-daemon package)
And use a pidfile with -
is there any way of getting newer cups installed? 1.4 is installed when 1.6 is out. i'm having loads of issues getting my printer (dell 1250c) to work. it detects it and it says its idle/printing etc but it doesnt.
hoping that newer build might help (long shot) -
The only way is to use a "debian-testing" repository (with a ssh shell: edit your sources.list, apt-get update, apt-get install cups).
This way you can go to 1.5.3
Be carefull, do not update the whole system, just cups and the linked packages!
After that, i recommend you to revert your sources.list to the previous version.
