Slow transfer big files with CIFS. NFS works fine

  • I have a RAID 5 with LVM. I have created 2 filesystems, ext4 and xfs and share with cifs and nfs. The transfer of big file with cifs is very slow

    From another computer I transfer a file of 1Gb and 4Gb with this times:
    NFS: 1Gb -> 15s
    NFS: 4Gb -> 60s
    CIFS: 1Gb -> 15s
    CIFS: 4Gb -> 900s!!!!!!

    I have put this parameters (read in another post)
    max protocol = SMB2
    max xmit = 65535
    socket options = TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY SO_SNDBUF=65535 SO_RCVBUF=65535
    read raw = yes
    write raw = yes
    max connections = 65535
    max open files = 65535

    But the same Issue

  • with LVM

    Why. Any reason you specifically must use partitions?

    I have created 2 filesystems, ext4 and xfs

    Again, reasons for both filesystems on one raid?

    Oh, and what kind of Hardware?

    Greetings
