Keep losing mount points

  • I've been having some problems with my new Openmediavault server.

After a good week of testing and reinstalling the machine many times, i have finally managed to get it to work.

    My setup:

4 drives in MHDDFS with two shares on.
    2 disks raided in RAID0.
1 SSD for VM's and Plex database.

All of these drives are encrypted with luks encryption.

But i'm having some problems with Openmediavault. Over the past few days, i have lost the mountpoints to all my disks four times. When this happens, i cant use any of the drives.

Before i can access the drives again i need to run two commands to get it working.

    first: fusermount -uz /media/786a555f-18b0-4655-a83f-601c804e8ef2
    then: mount /media/786a555f-18b0-4655-a83f-601c804e8ef2

How can i fix this problem?

OBS: I will try to get a screenshot next time it happens.

Are they usb drives? Are you using the luks plugin?

  • It's harddrives connected to a Dell Perc h310 wich i have flashed to a HBA. And yes, i'm using luks.
But after checking the logfiles, i have found out that it could be VirtualBox that makes the machine drop the drives.
i have disabled virtual box now.

Actually mhddfs is segfaulting. Switch to mergerfs.
