If all else fails, you can zero the superblocks, and then re-create the array. mdadm is smart enough to detect the existing data, and shouldn't overwrite it.

    is it true ?
if its true i can easily zero all superblocks and create a new array. but what about my data and the filesystem ? if i had only a naked array after this there will be easier ways to make it

I don't know if it is true or not. It makes me very nervous though. I'm not sure what else to try because it will not let you add the drives from one array to the other without zeroing the superblock.

  • but there is no other array.
all drives where in the array before the power cable on the backplane was broken. and the state of the drives was clear before.
the first array md0 is the right array for my 6 hhd´s 5x2TB Raid5 and 1x2TB Hotspair
the other array you see is the raid 1 array.

Didn't notice the raid 1 label. Are you able to add the drives to the array using mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdX

    How about mdadm --create /dev/md0 --assume-clean --level=5 --raid-devices=5 /dev/sd[uvwxyz]

  • i only added 5 drives in the command g,h,b,e,i
the 6. one is shown as spare in cat /proc/mdstat sdf [s]
but if its correct that the drive is really the spare ?!

I'm out of ideas unless you are willing to try zeroing the superblocks :( I just worry about losing the data.
