Hello so I have tried to install OMV on my newly built server naive me thought I could set up the network through wifi but alass this fails it also cant detect the wifi pcie card or USB both 5gh dual band could someone point me in the right direction of how to do this wifi is the only way no lan sadly. I do have ethernet cables and will using 1 to plug my server into my pc so I have faster file transfer. Would it be possible to set the installer to use my pc's connection if i bridge them?
Need help installing OMV.

You may have to add the modules/drivers for wifi manually.
This site might be helpful: https://wiki.debian.org/WiFi
It should be possible to use a PC with a NIC to bridge to wifi also. A PC with ethernet and wifi can be configured to become a very big router/bridge/accesspoint. But since you ask instead of just doing it, it might be tricky to actually do.
Another option is to buy some form of small WiFi do-hickie to bridge between wifi and ethernet. I like the small GLiNet travel routers. They can be configured to do almost anything involving combinations of wifi and ethernet. I have several.

I was thinking of a client bridge as well. From the link, the GL-USB150 looks pretty slick.

Yeah I dont know linux at all I am jumping right in to the deep end with this I am aware of it, plus I am not great when it comes to networking either so I am kinda just lost I was hoping it would detect the wifi card and ask to pick the router on my network, I have never used a travel router. The only thing I could do is bridge one of my wifi cards with ethernet but when I do this is loose internet connectivity.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/GL-iN…ers&qid=1570007537&sr=8-4 would this do the trick?

Yes. But i use the cheaper AR150 for my bridging needs. But that is 2.4 GHz and pretty low bandwidth. I mostly use it for IoT stuff.
...or buy a small GbE switch and connect it to the router and then the PC to the switch using ethernet.
Then Bob should be your uncle.
And as a side-effect you get much better network performance from the PC and OMV. And it may be cheaper than the AR750.

I am now considering upgrading my whole wifi solution with this https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-…zMsQiqxT3wVZxIee3qVALxWQY as I only have cheap router

That would work!
And you can connect the NAS to one of the units using ethernet cable.

Thats what I am going to do then thanks
