[RESOLVED] Unable to install OMV 0.5x ver. from bootable CD

Hi all,

I'm pretty frustrated by now since I lost lots of time trying to do a simple task like installing OMV 0.5x from bootable CD to a fresh machine. The machine configuration is:

Intel I5 proc
16 GB ram
Intel P7p55D motherboard

The startup always freezes at "ISOLINUX 4.02 debian-201014 ETCD Copyright (C) 1994-2010 H. Peter Anvin et al". I have come across atleast 5 machines so far with the same problem. I can install Debian 6 or 7 on these machine without a problem also.

Any clues?

Turn off the serial port in the bios.

Otherwise, install minimal Debian Squeeze and then:

1 - echo "deb http://packages.openmediavault.org/public sardaukar main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/openmediavault.list
2 - apt-get update
3 - apt-get install openmediavault-keyring postfix
4 - apt-get update
5 - apt-get install openmediavault
6 - omv-initsystem

wow, thankx. Disabling serial port helps. I would have never come up with that.
