You guys are all over the map on this thread.

How so? segmentation fault shows me thats a problem with the filesystem or hard disk beneath it.

  • Okay, then let us get simple. Whats the output of the following two commands, as of yet:

    Code
    apt-get update
    dpkg -l | grep openmediavault

  • I think this is repo issue. I would take checks off all repos in omv extras. Then click on save. Go to update manager section and see if you still get error.

Thingel, in putty you can highlight stuff by holding down the left mouse button. Leave it highlighted and then you can go back into browser. Go into forums and create code box. Then you can paste whatever is currently highlighted in putty.

  • Here is what is the return of:

    Code
    apt-get update
    dpkg -l | grep openmediavault

    Code
    Fetched 126 kB in 4s (26.9 kB/s)

PS: I have omitted the GET1..... GET2.....parts for clarity...

  • Here you are;

    Code
    root@Can-OMV:~# cd /var/cache/apt
    root@Can-OMV:/var/cache/apt# cd ./archives
    root@Can-OMV:/var/cache/apt/archives# ls
    lock partial
    root@Can-OMV:/var/cache/apt/archives#
  • ok try this:

    cd /var/cache/apt/archives

    Code
    wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/openmediavault/files/packages/pool/main/o/openmediavault/openmediavault_0.5.31_all.deb

dpkg -i openmediavault_0.5.31 press TAB and hit ENTER

That wget command is one command. You can click on select all and then copy it while it is highlighted in blue. Then paste it is putty and hit Enter.
We are reinstalling 5.31. It may have been corrupted.

  • If it is not working after that:

    I would also try this.
    apt-get --purge remove openmediavault-omvextrasorg

Then go to this directory and make sure there are only these 2 files
    Directory
    cd /etc/apt/sources.list.d
    ls

    these 2 files
    openmediavault-locat.list
    openmediavault.list

If there are any other use the rm (remove or delete command) to delete the file
rm filename (whatever the file names is)

Then go to update manger and see if no errors. If it is not clear after this I would reinstall.
If it is clear just reinstall OMV-Extras.

  • Hi tekkbebe,
I have followed your instructions and now I don't get any error messages both in update and plugin pages, however,
I cannot see any available plugins when I click "Check" on plugins page now. There used to be many plugins available and I had installed UPS plugin in the past. It shows as installed but nothing else is available now...
