Is it possible to login in browser as user and see my shared folger?

  • Hey guys,

I'm using OMV on my Raspberry Pi for my private cloud. I have the opportunity to login in browser, accessing via URL. This works fine.

URL in Browser -> see OMV login page -> login as user (not as admin).

Now my problem: if I'm logged in, I cant see my folders.

But while entering my Network folder on my MacBook everything works fine.

Is there any kind of setting in the admin dashboard to enable this?

Or is it just possible to use OMV via Network.

I'm not using VPN. I'm accessing via browser URL.

    Thanks!

    Not by default.
    OMV is a services/plugins manager. NOT a files/folders explorer.

The GUI is only meant to manage the Server (by admin user or any other added to the same group).

What can be done is to run the plugin filebrowser to point to a specific folder (can be the one you have your DATA) and access it via a web browser.
Not sure if you can delete/add files to it though.
    Never used it.

    [EDIT]
Just tested on a VM: it's possible to add/delete ONLY files after they were added via the Filebrowser GUI.

Files/Folders that existed prior, will retain the permissions and you won't be able to do anything to them (with will show a red error "403 Forbidden" ) unless you change the owner:group to the same as FileBrowser.

This will cause problems with the already working samba, if you try to use the same shared folder.

And this is how it's supposed to be, ;)
