New install with disks with data already in it. Cannot see folders/files in existing disk

  • Hello,

    I just installed OMV6 without a glitch.
    I followed this video tutorial:

Now, I have 3 HDD in that system.
A 320GB as the boot drive which was obviously wiped in the install process.
    I installed the
sharerootfs 6.0.2-1plugin to access the unused space.
All is well on this front.

I have 2 other HDD installed that have data on them, one 500GB and a 3TB.

I had previously installed Amahi NAS and formatted the 500GB drive from within Amahi and did saved data on it.
The 3TB is from a failed WD MyCloud unit.
I just took the disk out of the MyCloud and made sure it was still good.
From within Amahi, I could see and access all the data on it.

I must say, all HDDs are formatted in EXT4.

Now, according the video tutorial mentioned above, I managed to add the disks and create the shares for each drives.
But I cannot any subfolders or files that are on the disk.

For example, on the 3TB HDD, I see a folder named Media (see 1st pic)
I know there are subfolders in there.
And this is the result in Windows Explorer (see 2nd pic)
    No folders/files show up.

I tried googling a solution but nothing actually comes up pertaining my situation.

I also installed the filebrowser 6.0.4-1 plugin but it doesn't see any folders/files either.
Same for the 500GB, the folders/files I had created are not showing up.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Problem resolved!

I was simply not paying proper attention to what was on the screen.
I didn't see the scrolling bar in the folder selection window.
The way WD MyCloud structures the files/folders is a bit cumbersome.
I had to go to the "Share" folder on the disk to see my files/folders and I had to scroll down the list to get to it.
I lost a few hours trying to figure it out when it was so simple.

    Oh well, a learning experience.

Sorry for the bother and have a great day!
