LUKS where is Backup-header

  • Hello,

could someone, explain to me where I can find the backup header?

Everywhere I read that I just have to go to Restore and then Backup header, but in my case there is no Restore button.

For me it looks like this:

    Thank you very much.

It was your other post. I guess it was deleted. This was my response:

I couldn't find a good way to add these functions in the OMV 6.x framework. There is nothing stopping you from doing it from the command line.

    sudo cryptsetup luksHeaderBackup /dev/DEVICE --header-backup-file /path/to/backupfile

That is my signature. PM is private message. Some people think they can send me private messages and I am their personal support personal. I don't like that.

  • Ok, so it is no longer part of the GUI?

Correct. If I can't implement it in the new framework, how can I add it to the GUI? Personally, I don't see why you would need to do this very often. If you have backup of the files, you shouldn't need backup of one header.
