10GBe WOL on OMV6

Hi everyone, newbie here - built a 1u rack on a gigabyte H610 ITX card that has a 1Gbe port, I have added a mellanox 10GBe card, Can make OMV work ok on the 10GBe card but not with WakeOnLan (WOL) it seems that few if any 10GBe cards can support WOL. I can make the 1GBe port on the mainboard work with WOL, so I was wondering if it would be a valid configuration to have both ports connected to a switch and just use the 1Gbe port for WOL and the 10GBe port for OMV. If this isn't crazy then should I configure both cards within OMV or just the 10GBe card in OMV? Sorry if this is a dumb idea/question
