Trying to mount a OMV dir in KVM with passthrough

    I installed virtiofs support in the guest


    Entering "sudo mount -t virtiofs Incoming /mnt" on the guest gives me an error, wrong filesystem type, invalid options or bad superblock on Incoming


    "Incoming" is the passthrough of /media/1002342424.../NAS/Incoming

    /media/100../NAS/Incoming has 750 permission fpr root:users

    I don't have a solution for you, but perhaps a workaround.


    I tried doing that at the office a couple of years ago but could never get it to behave right. Ultimately I ended up using NFS shares from the host, mounting those in the guest. It isn't quite as efficient a solution as the passthrough would be, but if the guest is linux, the NFS share helps to keep the permission issues easy to manage.
