Is there a way to split a linear raid?

  • I have an old OMV system which has a 5TB and 8TB in linear. is there a way to move all data onto the 5TB and safely use it and use the 8TB for something else there is only 3TB of date on there.

    Plugins - compose, cputemp, omv-extras, sharerootfs.

    Drives - 1tb nvme Data, 2TB nvme Leeching, 24TB (8tbx 3 merg) Media,

    Docker - nginx-proxy-manager, plex, prowlarr, qbittorrentvpn, radarr, sonarr, watchtower.

  • If i deleted raid would i be able to mount the drives without formatting them.

  • if this is a mdadm raid you are referring to, no. You have to copy **ALL** of the data off them before repurposing the drives, if you don't want to loose it.
