Unfortunately . . .
To have it back, just follow the previous steps that worked before from #11
mkdir -p /run/php/
chown www-data:www-data /run/php/
chmod 755 /run/php/
omv-salt deploy run phpfpm
This will give you back the GUI, at least, until a reboot.
Let's hope ryecoaaron (I just tagged you 2x, sorry) can give a better (final) solution to this.
Thank you, I just copied the instructions down so at least as long as I don't reboot, I can use the GUI 😅.
Thank you Soma, you were a massive help! o( ̄▽ ̄)d
Hopefully ryecoaaron has a more permanent solution. 😊
I love being tagged and then having to read the whole first page of the thread. I don't have time to do that now. Is the flashmemory plugin installed?
Hello 😊
No, but I can do that right now if necessary.
I love being tagged and then having to read the whole first page of the thread. I don't have time to do that now. Is the flashmemory plugin installed?
I thought the rundown was enough, my bad.
OP upgrade to v7 and no GUI Access.
/run/php/ isn't being created at boot time.
omv-salt deploy run phpfpm errors due to the missing folder.
Only mkdir the folder, cleared it.
After reboot, same issue again.
I thought the rundown was enough, my bad.
It tells me how things are fixed but lots of things could cause the directory to not be there since /run is tmpfs. I feel stupid when asking questions that are already mentioned in a prior post. And of course people love telling me that they already mentioned it in a prior post.
The first thing I think of is the people don't shutdown their system correctly and folder2ram doesn't get to update the real directories. So, the "cache" folder2ram is using doesn't have /var/run in it and actually deletes it even though the service should be creating it.
Well, I don't have the folder2ram plugin installed as I mentioned earlier.
For the time being, I will manually make the folder after every reboot using Soma's instructions.
How would I automate this so omv can run the 3 commands on reboot so I don't have to mess with it?
Thank you again for the help Soma and ryecoaaron 🙏
Well, I don't have the folder2ram plugin installed as I mentioned earlier.
Install the flash memory plugin and see if it corrects the issue.
I installed the plugin and left it on its default settings. Unfortunately, I still couldn't use the GUI until I ran the commands from before.
Update: the power went out during a light sprinkle of rain while I was out for the evening. I came back to the NAS powering up fans at full speed and shutting off cyclically. Turned off the power, waited a minute, then plugged it back in.
Dead.
I will try to get a replacement power supply but if it's not worth the money, I might buy another secondhand optiplex again and reinstall everything. I literally just finished setting up syncthing and docker to sync all my devices at the same time 😭.
