• Hi

    I want to migrate my 0.5 version to the 1.12 version.
    Before to proceed I would like to save the omv conf files, in case of crash.
    How can I do that?
    thanks in adavance,
    Bruno

    Clone the OS drive with clonezilla.

    omv 7.1.0-2 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.2 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.5 | scripts 7.0.7

    omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

  • thks for replying to me so quickly

    unfortunately impossible: 1TB of data and I have no drive of this capacity ;(

    I had no problem with the update:
    --------------------------------------------------------
    apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade && omv-update

    omv-release-upgrade

    apt-get purge apache2 (because of nginx)

    apt-get --reinstall install openmediavault
    --------------------------------------------------------

    But I wish to keep the possibility to return to the initial state

    any idea?

    You have 1 TB of data on the system (OS) drive? You really need the whole OS drive because backing up a few files is not good enough to restore.

    omv 7.1.0-2 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.2 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.5 | scripts 7.0.7

  • I got 1 TB of data on one nfs share: OpenNebula is using omv to store its VMs.
    So I tested on a VM the upgrade from 0.5 to 1.12 without pb.
    I want now to upgrade the real omv.
    But because I do not know the future I would like to be sure to restore the previous omv version in case of big issue.
    So is there any possibility to do that?

    Clonezilla can clone just the OS drive and not the data drive. The data drives are mounted in /media but not when you boot Clonezilla. On my systems, the OS backup is less than 2 GB. There is really is no other easy/good way to do it.

    omv 7.1.0-2 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.2 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.5 | scripts 7.0.7

  • Hello

    You are right the data are mounted in /media and the OS is less than 2GB
    So I will use CloneZilla so as to backup the system before to upgrade
    thks a lot for your solution,
