When you create a new shared folder, you can give it a name and then select an existing folder using the drop down window:
Yup, I know that, but in Device drop down, I can't see my remote folder. Just local disks. But I can read/write on mounted folder from terminal. The location of mounted remote folder is in /srv/syn. Maybe I should change from /srv to /mnt? Sorry if this is silly question, I am quite new in Linux

There is a remote mount plugin.
Remote mount plugin don't work for me.
QuoteYou might be also able to create a shared folder at the folder you mounted in fstab.
Mind to tell me how, please? I can't see mounted folder in OMV GUI

Hi,
I mounted network folder via fstab. In terminal, it's working ok - I can write and read it, but I can't see it in OMV GUI. Any help, please?

I think the only way then is to share the disk on the 2016 server and mount it as a network drive in OMV.
I did almost exactly what you are trying to do when I was running tvheadend in a VM on a Windows PC and I wanted the recodrings to end up on the Windows PC and not inside the tvheadend VM.
There is a guide here: https://tvheadend.org/boards/4…598?r=35470#message-35470
Thank you for answer, I'll try that.

OK, I have specific problem. My server is Windows Server 2016. On it I have installed OMV 5 in Hyper-V virtual machine. Created virtual disks and all is going nice. Now, I want to use NTFS formatted USB disk in OMV. I can see it in Windows server, but not know how to mount it in OMV. Of course it is possible if I create a virtual disk in USB disk, but I preffer, if it is possible, to avoid it.

WD does have EFRX Red series drives available, that are CMR.
In my country they are quite rare
-
so with that in mind would you use SMR for day to day use i.e. constant file access and storage.
I plan to use them as backup drives. I already have my data drives in RAID.
I am confused with "infrequent drive access" term. I have Rsnapshot (OMV plugin) to make backup of my data once in 24 hrs.
-
Depends on what and how they are being used, SMR drives require 'idle time' to function correctly therefore they should not be used in a Raid array or ZFS.
So, if I don't use RAID, I can buy them? Problem is, I can't find WD Red EFRX (nonSMR) disks...

I read quite a bad opinions about SMR drives. What you think about use them in NAS?

Have a look at the remote mount plugin.
I have and receive this error
I create folder on RPi usb disk chmod it for all priviledges. In OMV plugin point to that folder, using user pi and password.
Not luck
EDIT
My bad: I used a pat instead of sharename

Hi,
I have mounted 4TB disk to my RPi with OMV5. Can someone provide a guide how I can mount it in my main server with OMV5 and send a backup with Rsnapshot plugin from server to RPi disk?

Any way to integrate Redis with Nextcloud container, please?

Hi,After update to Portainer 2.0 (via OMV Extras) all my sites on the domain (nextcloud.mydomain.com; airsonic.mydomain.com etc) are unaccessible. Funny, all my domains on local network (witch I open wit local IP) working fine.In Portainer GUI, all container are green with "running" mark. So, is there any way to back to Portainer 1.xx?EDIT: They are working again, after ~24 hrs. Strange.

Hi.
I have 5TB on OneDrive for Businesses. I mount my OD to folder in Win10. The question is: can I mount that disk to OMV, so I can use Rsnapshot for backup? I try to use Duplicati, but it's very, very slow.
Remark> There is no Share folder in context menu on mounted disk in Win 10

I am not familiar with Nginx but I’ll give it a shot. Does your config file have localhost 127.0.01?
Also I’m not 100% sure on this but even if you used something like dnsmasq for split DNS you would need to be able to point your router at your server as the primary DNS resolver.
Have you tried pinging your domain from different devices and see which ones have a good connection. Also take note of the ip address as it should be your public one. It may also be your servers if your server is resolving.
Thank you, I will try it.
