Have you installed xorg on the host? If so, good luck. I only ask that if you have any problems and request assistance in the forum, mention this before.
Yes I installed xorg on host, it's set to not autostart, you must run startx or xinit first. If autostart is enabled it causes some issues with omv UI, so it must be started after cli logon.
What about if you wanted packetfence on top of omv, sound also works, you just have to deal with the 1980's style UI.
Success, I was able to install Xorg, Dubs, systemd, twm, with xwm on omv 6.1 debian 11, Intel i3 8gb ram. Also got Firefox-esr, 127.0.0.1 access. It was very difficult. I will say. Had to fix the PHP server, and reinstall part of omv base. It works awesome now. And I can run virtural box on Gui.
Get a Dell Optiplex 7010 full tower, has i5 supports 64GB ram dual channel, and GB Ethernet full size supports up to 4 or 6 sata 3 drives and uses Intel matrix storage controller, supports raid and uefi, I have a 7010 small form factor with 4GB ram DIMM not SO DIMM, BUT you can use a so dimm to dimm adapter
