    Hi subzero79,

    .
As for btsync 2.0, maybe we should just reduce it to a start/stop init and let people handle the plugin in their own webUI

So this iOS-syncthing story was out of my sight -Sorry.
Towards a btsync 2.x-plugin, yes that seems to me a better solution than no solution for btsync 2.x in OMV for the moment.

    Hi there,

I see syncthing 0.11 was released a couple of days ago. I wonder if it has gotten better?

Well, there are severall bigger changes
However, in terms of an official, easy installer for Windows or Mac OS X there are no news for the not so tech savvy end user.

    Hi there,

    2. I'm sure someone could but the question is why? I don't use btsync. So what is the advantage of using 2.0 and creating a plugin for it? (I'm not going to but curious).

In btsync 2.x there are some more possibilities in the folder permissions, bug fixes etc. as long as you stick to the free version (10 sync folder limit). Wit the paid pro version (no 10 sync folder limit) you get some more valuable features. However btsync 2 is open to the future regarding platform support, debugging etc. btsync 1.4.x stays as it is more or less as a discontinued product. Making the situation somehow more complicated is that btsync 2.x is not compatible to btsync 1.4.x, i.e. the btsync 1.4.x plugin on the the OMV server will not work with btsync 2.x on the end users platforms.

Well, up to my knowledge (and please correct me if I am wrong), the situation with btsync 1.4.x-plugin, btsync 2.x and syncthing in OMV is:

    • btsync 1.4.x-plugin in OMV is operational, but an update to btsync 2.x is not possible at the moment. The developer sees no point for an update to btsync 2.x due to certain limitation introduced with version 2 of btsync
    • btsync 2.x-plugin in OMV is desired by some users but there is no one around who could make a new plugin or adapt the 1.4.x plugin.
    • syncthing plugin is desired by some users but there is no one around who could make a new plugin. Besides that synthing is considered in some use cases as not mature (in terms of multi platform support, mobile support, easy installer for the individual platforms, CPU- usage etc.).

    So how to proceed?
    1. is still a good and working option. 2 should be reachable with the solid base of 1 if someone would take it on. For 3 I see somehow a longer way to go.
    Does anyone have an idea?

    Hi Karl,
regarding issue 2, I received the same messages after upgrading from OMV 0.5.x --> OMV 1.x. My solution - although I do not understand it - was to disable the ClamAV-Service, reboot and enable the ClamAV-Service. Since then, I did not receive such a message anymore.

    Hi ShadowZero,
I tested your guide on the front page of this thread with the recently released Serviio 1.5.1 version and the Web-UI-for_Serviio 1.5. It works nice :)
Perhaps you might want to change

    Code
    wget http://download.serviio.org/releases/serviio-1.5-linux.tar.gz

    to

    Code
    wget http://download.serviio.org/releases/serviio-1.5.1-linux.tar.gz

    .
    Besides that, when I try

    Code
    ps -aux | grep serviio

    I receive

    Code
warning: bad ps syntax, perhaps a bogus '-'?

. Do I have to install something more on my OMV-system?

    Hi ShadoZero,
I would like to get back on your post from 1st of October last year:

Did your tests with the deb-multimedia package of ffmepg run well if you found time to do so? Would that be an alternative for using libav?

Would Serviio together with the 3rd party Web-UI bring the parts together to qualify for an OMV plugin as it is the situation with Plex or MediaBrowser 3?

Which further development would you imagine to be done on Serviio?

I would be happy if you could elaborate some of your thoughts for me, though I am a beginner in the area of Serviio.
    Thanks,
    topi

    Hi supturb89,
I just installed the plugin via OMV-extras-Plugin last week and MediaBrowser is working. Just activate the Mono-Repository and you are good to go. Just be prepared, MediaBrowser is somewhat resource demanding especially when you use the transcoding feature.

    Hi ShadowZero,
thanks for updatting the serviio installation guide to version 1.5 and for the hint with the missing slash at end of the URL. With http://<serviio_pc_ip_address>/serviio/ it works like a charm with the web ui

    Hi ShadowZero,

first of all, thanks for your work and the installation guide for serviio.

According to the instrutions on page 1 of this thread, I dared to install serviio 1.5 and the web UI 1.5 for serviio.
    My findings are:
    - Oracle Java 8 is mandatory on Linux
    - serviio 1.5 installs and gets alive, ie. service servio start/stop/restart/status works
    - the serviio web app http://<serviio_pc_ip_address>:23424/mediabrowser is answering
    - I failed in installing web UI 1.5 (https://github.com/SwoopX/Web-…o/archive/Serviio-1.5.zip) . The installation seems to run flawless, but I end up like noxx with http://<serviio_pc_ip_address>/serviio resulting in "404 Not Found
    nginx"

I have to add that I used the Debian ffmpeg package - although it is depreciated - for ease of use.

    Hi tekbb and subzero79,
thanks again for yoiur quick replies.

the I issued "dpkg --configure -a" which gave not any feedback , made apt-get update & apt-get upgrade. Trying again to install mediabrowser plugin:

Now I tried subzeros suggestion but used apt-get install libsqlite3-0/wheezy instead of apt-get install libsqlite3/wheezy:

Now, trying again apt-get install openmediavault-mediabrowser and yes, it seems to work now, indexing of the media files has started :)
Thanks to Sergio, tekbb and subzero79 for your patience and your advice!

Thanks for your help Sergio & tekkb,

dpkg -l | grep sqlite issues:

    Code
    rc libsqlite0 2.8.17-7 amd64 SQLite shared library
    ii libsqlite3-0:amd64 3.7.17-1~bpo60+1 amd64 SQLite 3 shared library
    ii php5-sqlite 5.4.36-0+deb7u3 amd64 SQLite module for php5

You are right, it is an update from OMV 0.5.x on Squeeze to OMV 1.x on Wheezy.

So I exchanged the contents of sources.list as you adviced.Afterwards I did an apt-get update, which starts:

    Code
    apt-get update
    Ign file: Release.gpg
    Ign file: Release
    Ign file: Translation-en

    and then apt-get upgrade:

    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded

Unfortunately the installation of the mediabrowser plugin failed again:

    How should I proceed now?

    Thanks,
    topi

    Dear Sergio & tekkb,

    thanks for the quick replies.

There seem to be no packages held back:

    Code
    apt-get update ...
    apt-get upgrade
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list issues:

    cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/omv-extras-org-kralizec.list shows:

I hope this may help to track down the issue.
    Thanks,
    topi

    Dear Sergio,

I tried to install the MediaBrowser plugin again, unfortiunately with the same result.
Wthin the OMV GUI it hangs:

    Code
    Reading package lists...
    Building dependency tree...
    Reading state information...

On the terminal, it ends with a dependency problem:

Perhaps you may have another hint on how to proceed?

    Thanks,
    topi

    Dear Sergio,
    thanks for the reply.
Indeed, the mono repository was activated as the very first step, according to the instructions on page 1 of this thread. After it was not working, I activated the mono-testing repository, hoping that it might be helpful in a way. However, I did not work with the mono-repository nor with the mono-repository and the mono-testing repository activated.
In case, a repository was temporarily down, I will try it again evening and report back.

    Hi there,

My OMV 1.11 (64bit) runs well, I installed a few plugins like Plex, Netatalk which all work.
Today, I just tried to install for the very first time the MediaBrowser Plugin via the omv-extras.org plugin. I went along the instructions in the beginnings of this thread. However, the installation of the openmediavault-mediabrowser 1.10.0 hangs on:

    Code
    Reading package lists...
    Building dependency tree...
    Reading state information...

So I went to the terminal and tried as root to:

    Code
    apt-get update
    apt-get upgrade
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

Then, to be sure that there is nothing of the MediaBrowser plugin installed accidentally, I issued:

    Code
    apt-get --purge remove openmediavault-mediabrowser
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
Package 'openmediavault-mediabrowser' is not installed, so not removed
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

Now I tried to install the mediabrowser-plugin manually in the terminal:

Trying to install libsqlite3-dev in order to resolve the dependencies:

So, I have no further idea at the moment how to cope with this dependency issue? Does someone have a hint for me?

    Thanks in advance,
    topi

    Hi votdev,

I checked the situation now for a few days when the mail notifications appear. I can say for sure that they appear only when my system starts up or when it resumes from hibernation. It shows alwas the same pattern, I usually receive a pair of monit notifications within one minute:

    Code
    1. notification: monit alert -- Resource limit matched localhost: cpu wait usage of 100.0% matches resource limit [cpu wait usage>95.0%]
     2. notification: monit alert -- Resource limit succeeded localhost: 'localhost' cpu wait usage check succeeded [current cpu wait usage=1.5%]

So, would there be a way to make monit somehow more resilient with this cpu usage peaks?

    Thanks,
    topi
