So since sismondi is using bays that have RAID on it, I beleview that the issue will not occurs into a non RAID one like ORICO 9558U3
-
From the Orico software/firmware downloads page:
"Supported Models: NS400RU3, NS400RC3 ,NS500RU3, NS500RC3, 3529RUS3, 3539RUS3, 3548RUS3, 3549RUS3, 3559RUS3, 9528RUS3 , 9548RU3, 9548RUS3, 9548RUS3-C, 9558RU3, 9558RUS3, WS400RU3, WS400RC3, WS500RC3, WS500RU3".
Since that equipment does not have hardware RAID probably cuz of that everything is turned gray/disabled
-
Alles anzeigen
I thought only 3559RU3 would be compatiple with that software
-
Do all of the current Orico enclosures have this “feature”? And as I gather from this and the other thread mentioned, is this only a problem on AMD64 machines? Orico appears to be the dominant player in multi disk USB3 enclosures. I was contemplating a dual bay enclosure for an XU4 or RPi3.
Based on the other thread @sismondi is using Intel
-
I see, reading the thread that you mention, the info that I'm looking for is a relase notes from version v0.3.2.4 to v0.3.2.3 to see what are the changes.

There is no indication of Linux support, but I guess that it is plugin play.
A trick question would be how to ship this unity to brazil, but I will do a more reserch on it, the USB C HUB port is convient for a later futher expansion.
-
sismondi nice thread I considering to use the same orico product as you, but are saying that on the Ri Pi you do not have that issue right only on your new Mini PC Nas Build.
My current NAS build. (Moving from my Beta Nas Build to Final Release 1 + More questions)
-
You might to rethink this, have a look at this thread these units appear to 'sleep' after 10 mins and disconnect, these type of units are OK for Windows but may require further research when using with linux.
Wow I had tis problem today with rhe USB HUB from Orico I aways thought that was because of my old drives.
Thx for sharing
Do you have any tips about ssd caching a see that a bcache could be an ption but no oficial support from OMV
-
My question it is there is any way to add cache ssd storage to be achive high speed on my gigabit LAN, seems that mergerfs adds a bit of overhead (lag/slow) of file transfers.
My Optiples has 128GB NVEM + 16GB for OMV and 112GB for cache
Any idea how to improve my Release 1?
Sorry for split in 3 posts, but i got really excited

Hi every one and good morning (Brazil GMT-3).
I'm having fun for a while with OMV and ryecoaaron helps a lot anwsering some questions.
Finally I think that I'm ready to move from my beta build:
1) Ri PI
- OMV
- Union FS (Agregate a bunch of old drives)
- Snapraid (Give one parity drive)
- rClone + Daily Cron Jobs (Backup critical stuffs to the cloud)
- Common stuffs like (MiniDLNA + Docker + Portainer + DuckDNS + qBitTorrent)
2) Ri PI running libreSwan VPN
Some Images of Current Build:

Good Morning everyone I have two question regarding the plugin Union FileSystems:
1) Is possible to Hot Swap adding for more capacity or removing disks witout rebooting? there is any command line that I can use to do it?
2) When you create the "pool" on the file system its create the "virtual device" that reference that pool, there is any way to rename that device to something that make more organized insted to use a GUID.
Thanks for the support.
-
ryecoaaron ok thx for your support
-
Work ryecoaaron, any doc or a link that i can setup de "variable" correct in OMV.
