We seem to have got crossed missed posts, dis you wipe the drive before creating a file system?
No! and thats it !
i wiped it in Disks and that formated it in Filesystem with Btrfs.
no i want to maky a daily (or 2 or more often) backup OR Rsync.
i think i will use rsync
its is sdf
while the raid disks sda, sdb, sdc.
but i dont which it is bay in the server. is it important somehow?
The disk is visible in
Storage/ Disks/
Iccan create it in
Strage/File systems/
but than its gone ....
But what's the output of cat /proc/mdstat
>>> i have a HP MicroServer Gen8 4Bay.
1,2,3 Bay i use for Data Raid.
Can i use the 4th bay for Backup? somehow i have no accesses to the Disk.
Of course i do a real Backup with USB Backup.
thx for help
<<< No, not if you have used the 'built in' raid controller to create the raid rather than OMV's software raid option, but you may find some information here or here
>>> ok moved everything there (now here), how can i find out which raid i use. (didnt know that there is a hardware raid

Hallo,
i have the same problem
i receive this mail
May 30 16:11:45 omv monit[1493]: 'mountpoint_media_2e106d26-9900-4661-9cfa-b26964b47588' status failed (1) -- /media/2e106d26-9900-4661-9cfa-b26964b47588 is not a mountpoint
because in Strorage / File Systems there is a n/a file system which is missing but i cant delete it ...
i have 4.1.22-1
is there an new way to delet it or do i have to manipulate config.xml?
thx & regards
reinhard
oh id didnt know that, i used e separate pc and it did work.
but after booting the the new ssd with the old data, the eth1 and eth2 did switch to eno1 and eno2.
so i could not see the no network was visible.
with attaches monitor and Konsole ifconfig i could see this.
with:
ifconfig eno1 192.168.100.1 netmask 255.255.255.240
i changed the data from something to the correct ip and netmask, so i could open the OMV with browser.
in OMV Network i deleted the old eth1 and searched for a new one which is the eno1, reboot, and everything is fine.
after this i enlarged the boot and swap partition with GParted on external linux.
first deleting everything but boot, than enlarging boot and new(larger) swap partition.
after the first boot, i received some zombies, but now everything is fine 2.0.
if you own a HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8
never throw away your last VGA Cable (and Monitor with VGA input)
it is possible to do this on a separate Pc?
old boot usb stick
and
[USB adapterkabel SSD] in a laptop,
booting clonezilla, copy data,
than
[USB adapterkabel SSD] in the HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8
and done?
PD: be sure that SSD boot on desired SATA connector ( HP SATA 5 have some historical problems to boot from it unless to use hached BIOS).
thats why i want to use USB > adapter > SSD.
no clone or copy ... a lot of work, does OMV find the Raid?
do you have any links to a "how to" ?
i think i found it:
Move Boot from USB Flash Stick to SATA or to another USB Device
I Have a HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 with OMV4
i wanto to change the SLC USB stick to an SSD with a simple cable adapter.
any experience with that?
any other solution for SSD adapting as a boot drive?
how can i copy the USB stick to the SSD (also as a backup) ?
any links?
thanks for help
