Just curious: Which kind of services does this machine run?
Not much at the moment. I have 11x 3TB HDD installed with mergerfs and snapraid configured. FTP, NFS, SMB services are enabled. Docker is installed and im running a couple dockers currently. Plex, Nextcloud, Calibre-Web etc.
So i recently decided to get rid of my HP 12 bay rack-mount server (DL380P gen8 v2) as it was too loud and build a low noise but powerful server that i wouldn't need to replace for years. I had a rough budget of 450 which isn't much, so a few components came from ebay. Specs below
Case: SilverStone SST-CS380 ($138 from Newegg)
Power Supply: Rosewill PHOTON-550 (11 from Newegg, promotion for buying casse)
Motherboard: SuperMicro X9SRH-7F v2 (150 from eBay)
CPU: Intel Xeon (SR19Y) E5-2650L V2 1.7GHz Ten Core ($90 from eBay)
Memory: 8x4GB ECC DDR3 RAM ($60 from eBay)
My TOTAL is 449. However i spent another 80 dollars. 40 dollars for noctua cpu cooler and another 40 for additional hot swap bays. See images below

Try and install backport kernel 3.16
In the guide section use the debootstrap tutorial on reference how to it without booting omv.
I was able to disable the device in the BIOS to get openmediavault up and running
I got a EONNAS 850 cheap on ebay and decided i wanted to install Openmediavault on it. After a bit tweaking (moving sas cables for extra space to install 3.5 HDD, removing 2GB USB DOM, BIOS update etc) i was able to install Openmediavault. However whenever my system tries to boot i get the below error.
[ 4. 694536] Bug: Unable to handle kernel paging request at ffff8801155f8000
[ 4. 694704] IP: [<ffffffffa0161ab9>] fintek_cir_isr+0x158/0x3c1 [fintek_cir]

I can install and boot Debian 7 without errors so its seems Openmediavault doesn't like the Fintek CIR

Alles anzeigenCode# cd /usr/local/openvpn_as/scripts # ./confdba -us -p <username> # Retrive current user properties # ./sacli --user <username> UserPropDelAll # Deletes user from OpenVPN database
2nd command gives you Google Authenticator info. for given user. Useful if you need to setup account again with the android app. If shows the key.
3rd command deletes user from OpenVPN AS so you can start over if problems with Google Auth.
When you setup an account in the android app for Google Authenticator your username@wanip, or user@ddnsaddress, whichever you used with your OpenVPN setup, is your account name. This is you use the "Enter the provided key" method. With the QR you may not have to do anything.
If you want to use the QR code method you should install a QR scanner app first.
PS- Wtih changes to the OpenVPN AS server you will usually have to uninstall and resintall the client app (OpenVPN Connect) on the clients.
Thank you
Ok i found the issue and i feel kinda stupid. The time was off by two minutes on my cell phone. So my server time was 9:00PM and my cell was 8:58PM
Openmediavault Version - 1.19
Kernel - 3.2.0-4-amd64
Access Server Version 2.0.12
Hey guys,
I recently installed the OPENVPNAS server plugin and it worked flawlessly; that's until i enabled Google Authenticator Support. The system generated the QR Code for me to scan (it also generated the code for me to type into google auth app) however, the google auth codes generated failed to authenticate with the server.
So google auth support seems to be broken in the openvpnas plugin as it continually rejects the google auth code as being invalid.
