There is an issue on Github: https://github.com/portainer/portainer/issues/12925 Portainer uses Docker API 1.41 but the minimum for Docker 29.0 is 1.44. So a possible solution is a downgrade to the previous docker or use the OMV compose functions......…

OMV8 will be released when it is ready. See also other posts with the same message :)
Why not start with OM7 and release-upgrade to OMV8 once it is stable?

I want to get started with OMV from scratch.

And I'm wondering whether the new OMV 8.x Stable version will be released in the next few days/ weeks.
Can anyone say? Or will it be next year?

    Thx

This little tidbit points to a possible issue with DNS resolution. If you have set a static IP address on the omv UI, you likely have not specified an accessible DNS server.

Yeah, I accessed it through Network, then raspi - SSH. I think it was working better when I was using the NVMe drive for shared folders. I will try that again.

You said you wanted to create a shared folder on the SD card.
    […]

First, delete the shared folder you created. Then uninstall the plugin.

OMV can format the drive and create shared folders. This does not limit the use of that drive on any other…

Yeah I tried the sharerootfs plugin and a test share folder was saved in root, which wasn't what I wanted. Can I just uninstall that plugin? Will that unmount that file system?
If I enable the NVMe drive for files, will OMV control that drive?

Yes, I just saw that the Raspberry Pi 5 has some special boot features. Apparently, simply removing the SD card is enough. https://www.raspberrypi.com/do…essories/m2-hat-plus.html

However, it's recommended to separate the data from the system drive. So I…

Before installing OMV, I was sharing in the SD card. I cloned the SD card to the NVMe drive and it was booting from there.

Install the omv-sharerootfs plugin. This will allow you to create shared folders on the SD card, although it's not recommended.

Regarding cloning the card to the NVMe drive, I'm not a Raspberry Pi expert, but I'm afraid that won't work so easily. You'll…
