Been racking my brain all morning trying to figure out why my xcopy form windows keeps failing on the same exact file. I have discovered there is a size limit on my share. Where is this set?!?!?! I didn't set it, but apparently out of the box it does. 20GB limit. How do I get rid of it??
How do I get rid of quotas?!?!?!

Doesn't anyone know how to turn this g****m service off??? I know I can go change a bunch of files, but I also don't want to break anything in the process. Who's the friggin' genius who decided EVERYONE needs quotas??
-
quota is just a service. I posted on your other post how to disable them. We get you don't like them (I don't either) but you don't have to post on more than one thread.

Yes I am when it comes to stupid stuff like imposing quotas on users by default, and then not having an option to turn it off in the interface. This is a NAS...hence LARGE amounts of data. Let the user decide if they want quotas or not, just like everything else.

quotas aren't actually imposed by default. The service is enabled and does slow down boot by checking quotas but it won't limit anything. I agree they should be disabled by default (or have a place to disable them). The arm images I create have the quota service disabled by default.
