Confirming file transfer - midnight commander followed by rsync?

  • I'm in the process of moving my data from external HD's to internal ones in my NAS. What is the best way to perform the copy and confirm it?

What I did: I used midnight commander to move files. Then I used rsync within omv.

Question - is this a robust/speedy method of performing a file copy? Are there better ways? It would be great if there were a way of checking two folders to confirm that the file transfer was successful, however, the mac (I've ssh'd into the nas) is a little inconsistent with 'get info'.

The 'du' command on cli presents slightly different results.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I use rsync. Then just run the same command more than once. Shouldn't copy anything on the second try if everything was copied first time.
