copying from one OMV to another

  • Hi team.

I have two proliants running OMV.

I now need to back up one folder on OMV1 to a folder on OMV2

    Both on the same LAN.

A little bit of me hopes this would be dead simple, but reality tells me thats unlikely!

could someone suggest the best method, for instance mount a share from OMV1 to OMV2, or rrync or what?

    Cheers

    You have lots of options.

    1 - rsync
    2 - samba
    3 - nfs
    4 - ssh/scp

Do you want to run this manually or on a regular basis? I use the rsync server option to backup my files using a cron job. You could also mount a samba share or nfs share using fstab. If you were manually copying files, scp requires no setup (just enable ssh on receiving machine) and works well.
