hi,
I'm trying to build a rock 64 nas with a 1tb hdd to upgrade from my raspberry pi nas that topped out at 11 MB/s.
I have installed OMV multiple times and followed tutorials. Everything seems to work. I can mount the network drive however what happened is that when I would write files to it it would start at 11 MB/s and slowly tail off to zero then windows gives me a network error and i have to restart the rock 64. I've tried everything. Bought a new usb 3 adaptor, installed various flavours of linux. disabling the uas driver all to no avail. It seems to be able to write some dta but seems to get stuck on larger files.
Any ideas?
Thanks, George
(solved) Rock 64 network error as soon as I try to write or read.

Why are you using omv 3? Not saying it's the issue, but installing omv 4 would be a prudent first step. The USB 3 controller on the rock64 is it's weak spot though.

on the release page its listed at 0.7.x. ive tried the latest release and earlier ones which have no change.

I'd start by trying the rock64 image for OMV 4.
Not saying that will definitely fix the problem... but I would start there.

where can i find the image? on the github the latest one is listed as 0.7.x

I looked at the release page for OMV 4 and it only gives it an an iso file which cannot be installed on the rock64 (As its a SBC). The 0.7.x on github by auyfan seems to be the latest release for the rock64. I dont know what version its based on.

It's right in that link I posted above.... that's the link to OMV's SBC section... go through the list and find the Rock64 image file and download it.

Didn't see the link! ill give it a go, Thanks!

Problem solved! Turned out to be a crappy network switch i was using! plugged my pc and nas into the router and bingo 70MB/s stable. Thanks for the help KM0201

Good deal.
Hopefully you still upgraded to OMV 4.. pretty sure OMV 3 is pretty well dated by now.

YES I DID

I've got the same problem as georgegohl. But in my case the problem isn't a crappy network switch. May you got any other solutions?
