Hi all. I have just begun my NAS build to replace my aging Thecus NAS. This thread was a great help! I had some of the parts already thanks to TigerDirect closing down their stores. I do have a question: My drive enclosure can be set up as hardware RAID-5. Should I use that or go with the software RAID in OMV?
Here's what I've got so far:
All I am missing are the 4 hard drives. I am planning on getting 4 HGST 4TB NAS drives. Backblaze finds them to be the most reliable drive for NAS storage.
