How do I access PI NAS after VPN Connection

I have successfully connected to my Raspberry PI3 through OpenVPN on my windows 7 laptop, though the Mapped shared folder is not accessible outside my home network even with the VPN connected. It works inside my home network of course not VPN, though once i leave my home and connect VPN it won't connect.

I have never used a VPN so my question is; should the already mapped folder be accessible when connected VPN or do I have to do something different to access this folder (NAS) like remap it?

Depends on how you configured the server. You should be able to access the samba server with vpn IP address of the rpi. That's the ip adresss that the tun interface has.
If you want to access using the lan ip of the rpi, then you need to push the lan route.

Success! My configuration is samba (SMB/CIFS) and I did't realize that I need the IP address in front of the folder when mapping the drive when connected to the VPN. All works now, thanks for the help!
