REQs:unified raid grow, midnight cmd, a.s.o.

  • hello,

i'd like to suggest a unified raid grow (adding media) procedure for all supported raid types and file systems (ext4, xfs, ...) within the GUI.
heck even some error preventing counter measures like msg boxes if one tries it the wrong way.

then lets add midnight commander and some other useful free tools to the standard installation - or at least give some additional tools options during the install routine.
tools should be usable within the GUI ;)

a midnight commander equivalent for the GUI would be the cherry on the top - copiing and moving files/directories on the server locally without stressing the lan :)

another thing - multiple other filesystems for feeding/retrieving data to/from the server directly via removable devices (esata,usb,firewire,cd/dvd/bd,a.s.o.) like FAT,FAT32,xFAT,NTFS,HPFS(+),*NIX a.s.o.

okay i know there are some more pressing feature requests around but for a *NIX newbie they are of a different quality.

    Contributions are welcome

Use apt-get to install additional software. Every additional package blows up the defauilt ISO size, and not everyone needs such tools, thus only the core packages needed to get OMV running will be installed by default.

There are already feature requests for that. As already said, contributions (in this case plugins) are welcome.

Only filesystems that support Posix ACL will be supported because the permission handling is build up on this requirement.
