Ah.. This is so bad.. Can't we do it in another way? I don't understand why.. We are using it for a good purpose..
Many thanks

I agree 100%. I never knew I couldn't do this until someone pointed it out. The only other way is manual. You could install the remotedesktop plugin and the login to the box and use the graphical folding installer supplied by stanford.

But if i'm going to install the remotedesktop plugin on my Raspi It will slow it down or not? The grafical interface will start automatically everytime i will power on the Raspi?
Many thanks

It is a minimal desktop and doesn't start locally on the RPi. It just starts a session when you login via RDP. So, it won't slow anything down. Maybe a bit of memory use.

Stanford is against people making a plugin for folding??? I find that kind of sad.

They don't want people cheating to get more points. It has happened in the past. So, to make it simple, they say no installers.
-
So there is some kind of reward program or something??? That seems kind of counter productive if the goal is to aid research.

Just points. They don't get you anything other than pride. A way to measure your contributions to others. Some people are all about the points. Others are about the cure. Doesn't bother me which reason a person has as long as they are contributing. I've been doing it 11 years. The only reason I look at points is to make sure my equipment is functioning as efficient as possible.
